Aurora

Aurora Aksnes was born on 15 June 1996 in Stavanger, Norway. Popularly referred to as Aurora and often stylized with the letters in uppercase as AURORA. Her debut E.P. Running with the Wolves, came out in May 2015 on Decca Records to great approval of music bloggers and the media. She's also recorded some high-profile covers, such as Half the World Away (by the group Oasis) for John Lewis' Christmas advert as well as Nature Boy (by Nat King Cole) The songs were widely appreciated. Katy Perry, who endorsed the hit song Runaway by her, gave her the track a little more attention. Make it a day to celebrate her birthday. Aurora Aksnes' earliest musical experiences include discovering an old piano that was hidden away within her attic, then being captivated by the sounds that it made. Jan Oystein Aksnes, her parents May Britt Aksnes, and Jan Oystein Aksnes urged Aurora Aksnes to take up music as an activity or profession. In order to do so she began to write original compositions. She cites renowned songwriters Leonard Cohen and Bob Dylan for inspiration, as well as a love for Bjork's style. After her mom told her that her songs would be a catalyst for her to gain popularity, but also help everyone else see their value on the planet and realise the potential of them, she decided to start performing in public. Her first piano lesson was when she was six years old and began to write music before she reached nine. The family did not know about it until she reached fourteen. There was no way she could have imagined to become Aurora. She claims that she enjoys composing songs. Music is for her the best method to communicate anything.
